Love You Forever Editorial Review: The mother sings to her sleeping baby "I'll love you forever, I'll love you for always, As long as I'm living my baby you'll be". She still sings the same song when her baby has turned into a fractious 2-year-old, a slovenly 9-year-old, and then a raucous teen. So far, so ordinary--but this is one persistent lady. When her son grows up and leaves home, she takes to driving across town with a ladder on the car roof, climbing in to her grown son's window, and rocking the sleeping man in the same way. Then, inevitably, the day comes when she's too old and sick to hold him, and the roles are at last reversed. Each stage is illustrated by one of Sheila McGraw's comic and yet poignant pastels. (Ages 4 to 8) --Richard Farr
Customer Reviews: oh my god freaky illustrations and creapy stalker mother!! 'oh look your mums at the window again.' i dont want my sons wife to be saying that about me when ive driven across town to hold my grown son, whos now a man, in the middle of the night.
worst book ive ever brought. the story of his mother dying is sad but just the picture of the mum peering at her son on the floor creeps me out.
the beginning is lovely and the ending, but just the stalker mother in the middle thats a bit wierd.
when i showed my husband the picture of the mother holding a grown man he laughed his head off and said thats me and my mum lol.
would send it back if it was not so cheap so it will just got to the local charity shop.
Beautiful I bought this book for my Mum to mark the birth of my daughter. Tis is a beautiful book that always brings a tear to my eye. Definately one that sends a message when given as a gift.
Nice but a bit silly Nice story but a bit daft.It starts of good but when it came to the Mother driving over to her grown son's house and lifting him out of bed while he was still asleep i found it a bit silly.I think it would appeal more to the adult reading it.
Everyone should have a copy As soon as a child is old enough to understand 'love' this book should be read to them, and it will delight grandmothers as well. I intend buying all my friends a copy for Christmas.
Great book I bought this book after Joey read it on Friends. It is a lovely story and the repitition is great for little ones too!
