He's the unwilling leader in an attempt to end a feud between the Montmers and their enemies, the coyote-like Felbarts.
Customer Reviews: Perloo the Bold Review We liked the book Perloo the Bold. It was a great story that kept us reading to all hours. It was a little boring in the beginning, but was great in the middle and end. It's a story I will never forget. It is about how one montmer (a rabbit tribe) takes a huge adventure to an enemy's cave. They meet some interesting characters. The characters were funny so it made plot of the story keep on going. I would recommend this book for kids aged twelve and under, and kids that love fantasy books. We are students that are in 4th grade and we loved Perloo the Bold. Hope you enjoy it; we sure did!
Jolaine the granter dies and Perloo has to figure out what to do with the Montmers and the Felbarts. While Berwig pretends to be granter Perloo gets out of the central tribe brow and starts his miracles journey. What shall happen next?
The main characters are Perloo, Berwig, Senyous, and Lucbara and they all are a part of Perloo's miraculous journey. This book is trilling and when you stop you are almost always left hanging. We think people ages 8-13 would love to read this magnificent book Perloo the Bold. This book has 32 chapters of amazement.
Perloo the Bold Review Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be an odd furry little creature and fight for control over the ruling throne? The fantasy novel Perloo the Bold by Avi certainly explains what this would be like!
Perloo, a hermit montmer, gets his world turned upside down when the granter, or ruler, Jolaine, asks him to become the new granter over all montmers. This is both bad news and good news for him and his pal, Lucabara. Now they have to suffer the persecution of Jolaine's son Berwig, who wanted nothing to get in the way of him and his throne. With the proclamation scroll torn in half, Perloo and Lucabara have to endure many hardships. These include getting captured by felbarts (montmers' long-time enemies), being thrown in jail, fighting in wars and one-on-one battles, all during a terrible blizzard.
Perloo the Bold is one of the only novels that I have read that keeps the reader on the edge of his seat while still maintaining a fun atmosphere. It is filled with action and suspense as well as occasional humor. Not once was this book boring; it kept me wanting more. This novel is well written and is fairly easy to read, so I would recommend it for anyone ages 8-10 and up. No matter what age the reader, Perloo the Bold will entertain and capture his or her interest.
Perloos book review Do you like bunnies, felbarts (wolf-like creatures), and very good stories? Then Perloo is the perfect book for you. In this book Perloo and his friend Lucabora go on a mission to make Perloo granter over Berwig, for if Perloo wins there will be no war.
This book mainly tells you that good always wins over evil. Perloo's loving nature gets him in and out of trouble. In this book, Perloo's friendship is stronger than all of Berwig's armies.
I recommend this book to anybody willing to read one of AVI's best books. I really like this book because of it's nonstop action and suspense. Perloo is a must-read for ages 8-100.

I read the book called Perloo the Bold, written by the author known as Avi.
When I started reading the back of this fantasy book, I thought it was great. It talked about a decent person that mostly went his own way minding his own business. During one blizzard day he heard the thumping on the door down the hallway, he was just ignoring it and sleeping, that was all there was to it to Perloo. At this point, I wondered if Perloo wouldn't go if it meant his life, but he actually did go. Joliane, his friend, was sick enough to die, he had so many good times with Jolaine that he just had to go help her out . Which made me think that one way or another he is coming to be Granter. Granter was like a type of King or Queen in this story.
Perloo is the dynamic character in this book. He can be very sleep, grumpy, and curious, but at the end of the book, he sort of stands up for himself. Another person "particulary big" known as Berwig, the Granters son, is always very grumpy, mean, always having a demanding list, and very selfesh. He was a soldier of the Montamiers. Lucabara, is one of the main characters, she practically guides Perloo the whole way through the book almost. She was the Granters assistant anyway. The Granter, before she died, was Jolaine, she was very caring at all times, she didn't want her son to be granter because it was like he didn't care about anything but im self.
Perloo the Bold is a very great book I tell you. I would recommend this book for fiction and fantasy readers out there. This book gave me emotional feelings about certain things heading torwards me. This book is a great book for people about the age of nine to fifteen. People who can understand why difficult things happen and how to be a good understanding person would probably want to read this book.
A Modern Fable Need a book that teaches a lesson to read your young ones at bed time?
Or to give your older ones that might need encouraging in their reading?
It was science fiction that got me interested in reading,
but unlikely animal heroes like Perloo
who save the world will probably work
too. The formula is adventure, mystery and coming of age
of the faint of heart...
