Sony MFM-HT75W Widescreen 17" LCD Monitor with TV Tuner (Silver) Editorial Review: Technologically advanced and savvy. Active with multimedia entertainment. Enjoy online and system gaming; watching television and movies; sharing digital home videos and photos. Looking for a television-display to handle their growing multimedia entertainment demands, as well as their everyday essential computing needs.
Customer Reviews: Very disappointed as TV monitor- but Amazon rocks! I have owned Sony products for the past thirty years and always been impressed with their performance and consistency. Although always a little higher in price, I felt the quality was well worth it. The Sony MFM-HT75W really disappointed me as a dedicated TV monitor. Judging from the Amazon reviews, I figured it would have a great picture without utilizing the computer aspects of the monitor. Wrong! Picture lacked sharpness and clarity without many options to adjust same. Also, the unit is all one piece so swivel or up/down capabilities are non-existent. I'm using it in my kitchen and adjusting viewing angles is an issue. Ending up returning it to Amazon (who were GREAT about how they handled it; actually refunding the money before they had the Sony in their possession. Kudos!)and bought a 17" Magnavox (?!) with a far superior picture and built-in DVD unit at roughly the same price.
Still haven't lost faith in Sony- my track record with them is too good- but it just didn't work out for me this time
Great Product!! Every time I use this monotor I am AMAZED at the picture quality. It is unbelievable. I recommend it highly.
Only Magnificient! This monitor was purchased solely for the purpose of a kitchen counter TV. It is not connected to the cable or satellite as other sets are but receives its signal of stations 40 miles away from an off-air antenna in the attic. The picture is absolutely incredible in color and detail. I couldn't be more pleased--it has by far exceeded my expectations and I would recommend it to anyone who is super-particular about the pic-ture quality of their TV. With its added monitor capabilities and limitless bells & whistles it's a no-brainer to settle for anything less. LHN (Oakie from Muskogee)
A Superb Monitor! I've owned my MFM-HT75W for about a month now - and it continues to amaze me with the overall quality of its display.
Gorgeous is the word that comes to mind. I just upgraded to Comcast's HDTV service and its truly stunning to watch this monitor in HDTV mode. The unit sits perfectly right on top of Comcast's Dual Tuner DVR/HDTV cable box.
When used as a second screen with my PowerBook, it's equally beautiful. Sony did a superb job on this monitor - and the price is very reasonable given the overall quality of the unit. Highly recommend!
Sony -- THE BEST So, my wife had on her Christmas list, "A smallish TV, not too expensive". What an open invitation that was to dive into my favorite brand: Sony. They are truly worth any extra you would expect to spend. This TV However, is an EXTREME value. You get a monitor and a TV - all in one. Today, It showed up on the porch and the shipping box was badly damaged, but AMAZON packed enough air bags in there to save your 300 pound mother in law from a fatal head-on. The factory box was pristine. Eewww, well, you know -- I just HAD to check it to see if it was damaged. Hmm, let me just plug it in. Yep, works perfectly and WOW, look at this--it works with my PC! I didn't know that!...and hey look "The Man Show" marathon is on -- GREAT! The picture is astounding. Yep, I sure like MY new TV. Now if I can find a "Smallish" "Inexpesnive" one? This one is all MINE....Signed, one Happy Scrooge. (Buy this, you won't be sorry at all.)
