Cuisinart DCC-100 Coffee Bar Classic 10-Cup Coffeemaker, White Editorial Review: Cuisinart's Coffee Bar brewing system was modeled after commercial systems, and delivers pure coffee flavor, cup after cup. The 1-4 cup setting ensures you can make a cup or two without altering the temperature or flavor of the coffee. And if you're in a big hurry, rest assured you can grab a cup thanks to the pause and serve function.
Customer Reviews: Just right for me Although just right for me, here are the caveats: the hot plate is a little too hot, so if you make only two cups the second one tastes burnt after about 15 minutes and if you're not very careful the hinge of the lid and the thingy on the bottom of the filter holder that allows you to pour while the machine is still dripping break easily. Yes, this is the second one I bought and now I know to be careful with those parts. I bought the same one again because the price is right, there are no silly and useless electronics like timers, uses No. 4 cone filters, and ultimately makes very good coffee.
Great coffee maker for small household I bought this since my husband is the only one who drinks coffee. The ability to make 1-4 cups is very good for this but we can still make a full pot when company comes over.
I haven't tried the coffee bar switch.
SIMPLY WONDERFUL COFFEE (I read many positive/negative ratings for top-selling coffee makers) I'm writing this to save you all the extensive time it took me to plow though a myriad of reviews, rated from 5 to 1 star. Man, people take their coffee makers seriously. After reading all this till my vision blurred, there was a point where it seemed the only way to avoid complications was to use a funnel or cone filter holder, put in the paper filter & coffee, and pour boiling water through it. I actually did this. It's a pain.
It was some time since I'd purchased one, the last being a Braun with filters, but the coffee was never quite hot or tasty enough. I'm picky about a good cuppa joe and wanted a reliable model. With all the choices out there, I had to figure out, do I order a coffee maker that was $150, now reduced to $70, and/or one with a carafe, or bells and whistles, or steam processing, filters, etc., basically a mini robot (R2D2, Wall-E), or what!?
This Cuisinart model was exactly the right choice: no fuss and it brews great coffee. I don't care about pre-settings, and it isn't too big. Since I have a separate grinder, it doesn't need to masticate for me. Or whistle. Or beep. You can always pour extra coffee into a thermos if you brew too much. But this has a setting for up to only four cups that consistently produces a rich broth. Just be sure and pay attention to the settings on the top and front, indicating the amount of water processing. Watch the little red ball as you fill the water container prior to brewing, as it takes a bit more water to produce the four cups marked on the carafe. This is all totally straightforward, and explained in the simple manual. Great coffee, with fine Cuisinart quality, and precise design on the carafe. You can't go wrong at this price.
not good for making <4 cups of coffee This coffee maker is good if you want to make 5 cups of coffee or more. But for low cups (<5), the coffee is sour and bitter. I would not recommend it for people who use it regularly for low cups.
Excellent coffee maker What a treat! A coffee pot that actually makes good coffee! If I had known that Cuisinart made great coffee pots I would have bought one years ago.
This pot makes even canned coffee taste good. And the good coffee tastes even better than at the coffee house.
No bells or whistles, and what a relief! Just great coffee every time. And you cannot beat the price.
