Customer Reviews: Is it really current? The book is laid out in a not so interesting manner and consists mostly of tables. The guidelines proclaim they are current and as of 2008 but there are a few mistakes here and there which are glaring. For example, the book mentions that Impaired Fasting Glucose is between 110 to 125, when it has been years since this guideline was revised and values between 100 to 125 is considered Impaired Fasting Glucose. Not excusable, by any count, since you need to be aware of these facts to effectively monitor your patients and prevent the onset of a disease.
Snore Nothing at all exciting in this one. Nothing. It is boring material, and things you practicing primary care physicians probably already know. I would get Conn's 2008 for a better current text.
a must for internal medicine and primary care rotation this is an easy to carry pocketsize guide to current guidelines in the treatment, screening and prevention of different diseases. this has helped me in structuring my management during my clinical rotation. it is easy to read, and very organized.
